Photocatalyst Anti-Wet is a solvent-based protective coating containing Nano Silver. This coating, when applied, creates a thin hydro and oleophobic layer on the surface, giving it hydrophobic properties, which repels liquids such as water and oil from penetrating the surface. As a result of these hydrophobic properties, the surfaces to which is applied become very easy to clean, thus reducing the time and money spent on maintenance.
The presence of Nano Silver within this solution deters the growth of bacteria and fungus on the surface as well. This ensures that surfaces to which the Nano Silver Photocatalyst Anti-Wet solution are applied, maintain optimum hygiene levels when protected.

Nano Silver Photocatalyst Anti-Wet can be diluted from 10 to 20 times using either Water or Ethanol. In doing so, the coating becomes a very economical solution to make use of, covering a surface area in the region of 80 – 100m2 per litre, dependent upon the nature of the surface and the method of application.
Nano Silver Photocatalyst Anti-Wet can be sprayed onto the surface using a wet spraying process or an airless spraying process, or can be wiped onto the surface using a lint-free cloth. Once applied, the coating takes approximately 10-30 minutes, at room temperature, to dry if the solution is ethanol-based, and approximately 6 – 12 hours to dry if the solution is water-based.
In order to observe the hydrophobic properties of the coating solution, researchers made use of a scanning electron microscope and a camera with a capturing speed of 130 frames per second to record the behaviour of water droplets on a Nano Silver Photocatalyst Anti-Wet protected surface. The objective was to determine the contact angle between the droplets and the surface.
Where the angles at the point at which the water droplets make contact with the surface are greater than 100 degrees, the coating is determined as being hydrophobic.
